The Bee Movie

It appears that my little family is not supposed to see The Bee Movie and here's why. Last month, we travel up to Hoover to the Rave theatre for their free summer movie series. We get there a bit early so we have time to get our $5 popcorn/drink/candy combo and get situated. We walk into the theatre we were directed to and there are NO lights on. Not even the dim little side lights so one can see where one is walking. R freaks out, grabs onto something and will not move. I'm holding everything and then have to hold him too. Our only light was coming from the advertisements on the screen. Needlessto say, we find a seat. About 10 minutes later, the "walking" lights come on. Ah...now we can see what we are eating.

It's about 10:00 and I tell the boys that the movie will start any minute. And we wait, and wait, and wait and R gets up to check out the rest of the theatre, and we wait. 10:23 (seriously, I looked at my watch), someone comes in to tell us to go to another theatre as they can't get the movie to work in this one. So out we go, across the hall to find the people in that theatre coming out as well. I thought yelling fire in a crowded theatre was illegal. That's about what it felt like. We get coralled into a theatre that is "working", climb the stairs again in the dark b/c the movie has already started. But guess what? There is no sound!!!! What? All this place does is show movies...one would think.......

We lasted another 30 minutes. The food and drink were gone and we had been there nearly 1.5 hours.

Attempt #2: Hey the library has movies, and they are FREE! Check it out...they have The Bee Movie. Well, turns out it is so scratched, that it doesn't work.

Attempt #3: This just happens to be tonight and I've had this night planned since May. Another opportunity to view The Bee Movie for FREE and it's outside! How perfect. Feed the kids, fix some popcorn, meet a girlfriend out there with her kids...we'll have so much fun. It gets rained out!

Is with worth the $20 at Walmart or should we just forget it?

I can let you borrow the movie. You can watch 10 minutes, go have a minor catastrophy, and then go back and finish watching the movie!!
