BodyPump countdown

You'll read a lot about this in the coming month(s). I'm so in love with Les Mills' BodyPump that I decided in January, I would be teaching by September. It took FOREVER for a class to be offered in Birmingham. Lo and behold, May 16th at noon, I will start a life changing class to become a fitness instructor. Never in my life would I have imagined doing something like this. I'm so bad about starting projects and NEVER finishing them.

I've been told that of the 3 day/36 hour training class, the second day is the kick me in the *&^ while I'm down, day. It is a true fitness challenge that lasts for 8 hours (I assume that extra hour is so we can eat and pee). I'm sure I can fake it through most everything except the 2 mile run. I sure hope that's in the morning and that it rains, so that we can do it on the treadmills; they'll probably make us run in the rain. I've purchased new running shoes; I've hit the treadmills at the gym, at friend's homes during play dates (how rude, really), plotted a course around the neighborhood, and practiced, practicedd, practice at home on the BodyPump routine.

I'm getting tons of support from family, friends, and of course current instructors at the gym. It's an incredibly exciting journey so far, but I'm so terribly frightened. G is taking the boys to his parents house for the weekend of training. I'll post a picture of myself soon, so we can all watch my physical transformation.

What do I hope to gain from all of this? To get in shape so I can be around to see my boys produce grandchildren; to improve my overall outlook on life and to take care of this precious temple that God gave to me. Life is precious - too precious not to love. I hope that by taking this time out for me, I'll learn to love life again and appreciate those that love me. :-)

He knows what you need...

...before you even ask.

I’ve been having some issues dealing with L lately and it’s come to a head the past several days…not to mention I’ve also been PMSing…..So tonight, R was having trouble getting to sleep, so I go up to his room (this is after Daddy had let him scream for quite a while and then went to the shower), and sat at the foot of R’s bed and started praying. I wasn’t real sure what I needed and was going through several bible Books in my mind searching for just the right one to start with, and finally asked for help. I didn’t even get it all out when 1 Corinthians jumped out at me. "Okay", I said, "I’ll read 1 Corinthians. Thank you."

So I come downstairs, open my Mom's Devotional Bible (it’s an NIV version) and here’s what the intro says, “In 1 Corinthians, mothers encounter God’s perspective for correcting behavioral problems. Mothers can use these guidelines to help our children learn right from wrong. Whenever possible, we moms should explain the reasons for our rules, just as Paul gave explanations to the Corinthians. Our young children may not fully understand our reasons, but they will see that we are trying to be fair, and they will find it easier to trust and then obey.” And then I sobbed. He knows what you need before you even ask. Amen!!!

Think he'll help me figure out how to balance my checkbook? Seems I have forgotten how.
