I took the boys to the McWane Center this morning. We spent 4 hours playing and learning, snacking and watching other kids....lots of other kids. Oh, I almost forget, we watched our first IMAX movie - the Grand Canyon. Although it was more of a plug for a writers book about the disappearing Colorado River, as all IMAX movies go, the scenary was fabulous. L was a bit scared at first, R was amazed and soaking everything in. We lasted 30 minutes, then had to head back out to play.
The boys really enjoyed the Itty Bitty Magic City exhibit, where they played with air tubes, trains, a light up peg board and a huge piano that they could walk on, among other things. Perhaps the best part was pushing the shopping carts around with pretend food. And with that comes the best part of my day.
While sitting w/L in bed - part of our nightly routine is lights out and then we just talk about stuff until he falls asleep, he looks at me and says, " When I close my eyes I see pictures in my head.”
“What kind of pictures?” I ask.
“Pictures of me and R pushing the carts with food at….what was that place we went today?”
“The McWane Center.”
“Pictures of me and R pushing the carts with food at wane center," he replies.
I told him to close his eyes and look at the other nice pictures that he sees. It was my first glimpse into the mind of my 4 year old. I know that he remembers everything he does and the places he goes, the things he sees, but tonight he let me into his world. Priceless.

Never underestimate the power of little boys
Ah, the day is not over until the little ones are resting. The boys love them some water...so much that they decided to turn the bathroom into a swimming pool -literally. A hose, a carpet cleaner, a wet vac, help from two neighbors, and 4 large fans. All the water should be dried up in about 2 days. Nuff said.
Amendment: the following Friday, the boys are in L's room having some not so "quiet" time, but they are letting me get a few things accomplished. I had checked on them once, then went back up not 10-15 minutes later to see what was up and before I open the door, the smell of poop hits me in the face. Sure, R needs a diaper change....open the door...nope, L's room needs a diaper change. How does one child get poop on the bed, the walls, inside of toys, the floor, the dresser and nighstand? Daddy had to be called home from work. Daddy was not happy. Did I mention they are 2 and 4 years old?????

Brotherly love
Daddy took R to a Braves game in Atlanta today. This trip was arranged several weeks ago by one of the vendors that G works with. That guy was also taking his 4 year old son. So it's just me and R today. Off to the gym for BodyPump team teaching (I rocked out on 2 tracks, thank you very much), then Panera for lunch (hey Kristy and Rhonda), and the book store to see about a book that I can find no where except online. So R played trains for a bit and we bought him a new truck/puzzle book - very cool, and home for a nap. Incredibly peaceful day.
The real story here is that R misses his big bo-bo. Really misses him; so much so, that he wanted to take a nap in big brothers bed. I'm so happy that they are the best of friends. I pray they never lose that connection.
